Kemberlee Mahaffey - K. Mahaffey Counseling

Are you from Saint Louis? if not, where (and why did you come to Saint Louis)?

No, I was born and raised in Kalamazoo, MI. My husband and I moved to St. Louis for graduate school at Washington University in 2003.

Which High School did you attend, (if you attended high school in MO)? (If not from Saint Louis, you can opt out of this question)

Attended school in Kalamzoo, MI

Which area is the best? Why? (County (North, South, West), City, St. Charles, Chesterfield, East Saint Louis, etc...)

I enjoy a number of areas in the St. Louis region for a variety of reasons. The Loop is fun, vibrant and diverse; Webster Groves and Kirkwood are cute little community neighborhoods. Forest Park is probably my favorite place in St. Louis. I have so many wonderful memories there with my children when they were really young, walking through the zoo, checking out the free activities at the museums, and going for runs.

Tell me something about yourself that you would like to share.

My father was killed in a freak accident almost 5 years ago, and the grief and growth process I experienced in light of this tragic life event is a big reason why I wanted to begin a private practice.

What is/are the name(s) of your business(es) and describe it/them (please provide a website and email address if possible). Why did you start it/them?

My private practice will serve individuals working through grief, depression, anxiety and stress. I believe my strengths include working with people and helping them process through these specific concerns, particularly because I have personal or other life experiences that enrich my professional qualifications.

What three words would describe your business(es)? (If you own more than one business please give three words to describe each business)

Inclusive, Safe, Empowering
