Are you from Saint Louis? if
not, where(and why did you come to Saint Louis)?
Not originally, born and raised in Texas. But I’ve lived in St. Louis for the past 31
years.
Which High School did you attend, (if you
attended high school in MO)? (If not from Saint Louis, you can opt out of this
question)
Bridgewater/Raritan High School in Bridgewater, New Jersey (9th
grade) Lee’s Summit High School in
Kansas City, MO (10th – 12th)

I lived in Mid-County, which I love, because I can get just about anywhere
pretty quickly. But I really enjoy being
in different parts of St. Louis because there are so many “flavors” throughout
the county, city, and St. Charles that I love to experience. I’ve lived in a lot of different places, but
I love the fact that in St. Louis, you can go to particular areas when you want
to have a particular type of experience or “vibe”. [Example:
“I feel like being in The Grove, or Cherokee Street, or the CWE, or out
in Wildwood, or Main street St. Charles, or the Loop today.”] I like that
variety.
Tell me something about yourself that you would like to share.
My whole life I’ve always had a strong need to express myself creatively. My creative endeavors are varied: drawing, watercolor painting, live theatre, directing plays, stained glass, batik, pottery, interior design, knitting, jewelry making, mixed media designs, and encaustic painting. Some I do more than others, but everything was on a “when I have time” basis. Because of that, I didn’t get to be creative much. When I retired from my day job (teaching) I found that this creative need erupted and now takes center stage of my everyday life. VERY rewarding and fulfilling!

What is/are the name(s) of your business(es) and describe it/them (please provide a website and email address if possible). Why did you start it/them?
WaxZenSik Scarf Creations waxzensilk@gmail.com
I often made silk scarves and gave them
as gifts. People always said “You should
sell these!” When I retired, I saw that
this was a real possibility, so I jumped in.

ORGANIC – in the materials used and the creative
process.
ORIGINAL or UNIQUE – each one
is different with “mistakes that turn into new parts of the design. LUXURIOUS – the scarves make you feel good
wearing them.
